DOREEN HO

CO-FOUNDER OF INTEGRATIVE HEALTH PARTNER

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Doreen is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a keen interest in Sport. She obtained her qualification in 2010 from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, UK, on a Ministry of Health Scholarship. Upon graduation, she worked at Changi General Hospital and found her specialisation in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy after doing a Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy in 2013.

When treating patients, Doreen makes it her duty to get to the root cause of musculoskeletal pain and sporting injuries. She has a keen eye for viewing the patient holistically, considering all contributing factors and observing impairments arising from movement patterns. With her manual therapy techniques, she believes in first restoring range and movement, accompanied by training motor control to solidify the correction of mechanical impairments, for the ultimate aim of optimizing function and achieving maximum potential in physical activity and sport performance.

Doreen has provided services for a wide array of musculoskeletal conditions, from treating acute pain and injuries in the Emergency Department, to managing chronic pain in the clinic. When encountering patients with chronic conditions, Doreen utilizes her Pilates training to elevate function and alleviate symptoms, and has conducted Pilates classes for chronic low back pain. Within the sports setting, she has a vested interest in overhead sports and related shoulder conditions and has built a protocol and an upper limb, throwing class to rehabilitate overhead athletes back to their sport and is often the go-to person in the team for complex shoulder conditions. In recent years, Doreen has provided Physiotherapy services to competing athletes at the SEA Games, ASEAN Para Games and Singapore Badminton Open.
